Duane is an incredibly skilled acupuncturist, auricular therapist, and the best NAET practitioner I have been to!  After recovering from a bacterial infection, my food allergies were so severe I could only eat a few foods without swelling up all over. I tried a course of NAET with Duane over several weeks and followed the post treatment protocol faithfully. Things started to change quickly ~ I started adding foods back in! After seeing results I continued to go every week as we methodically lowered my reactivity to foods 1 by 1. Today I am allergic to only 5 foods instead of 50 or more. Thanks Duane!

I have horrible seasonal allergies. I have had them all my life. I was a serious benedryl user and tried prescriptions as well as all the over the counter stuff. I felt horrible for at least 3 months out of the year. I hated taking all of these pills! I finally decided to give acupuncture a try, and I was skeptical to say the least. Duane (Byrd Acupuncture) has changed my life! When I went to see Duane (skeptical about this whole NAET thing) I had severe allergies to food. I could only eat 6 things, and had been that way for a couple years. My allergies started years ago and had been getting worse. Over the course of seeing Duane, he has cured my allergies so that I can now eat gluten (and other grains), dairy, garlic, vegetables, fruit, chocolate, coffee and over 40 things I couldn't eat before! He truly cares about each one of his clients. He really gets to know you and your concerns and I know he has spent time really researching and figuring out how to best treat me. I’ve been allergic to so many things my whole life: grass, trees, dust, animal dander, etc. And my family has been wanting a dog so badly. I’ve even done years of allergy injections two separate times with no improvement. I finally started searching for alternatives and I found Duane on the NAET website. I have been seeing Duane 1-2x/week since March for my allergies and I can honestly say that I’m seeing a significant decrease in my symptoms. I went to Duane to get treatment for multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). Specifically, I wanted to give the Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques (NAET) a try, and Duane is one of only several practitioners in the Bay Area doing NAET.
Duane is a very caring, friendly, informative, and passionate acupuncturist and NAET practitioner. If you are suffering from allergy, I would definitely recommend that you give NAET a try, and Duane is an excellent practitioner.
I am happy to report that NAET works for me. It's not as though I merrily go to bed hugging a bottle of perfume or douse my clothes with harmful chemicals like scented detergent and fabric softener and call that the smell of 'clean,' but those things don't bother me as much as they did before. When I inevitably come across such chemicals (since they are so ubiquitous there is no way to never come across them), my body and mind can deal with them in a more healthful way instead of going into shock and reactivity which result in what is called 'allergy.'
For those not familiar with NAET, it is " a non-invasive, drug free, natural solution to alleviate allergies of all types and intensities using a blend of selective energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological disciplines of medicine" [from the NAET website]. In order for NAET to be most effective, you should be eating a healthy diet and following healthful practices, and of course, you should be able to avoid the allergen at least 25 hours after treatment.
